The 33rd Annual Young Artist Awards ceremony, presented by the Young Artist Foundation, will honor excellence of young performers under the age of 21 in the fields of film, television and theatre for the year 2011. Nominees were announced on Saturday March 31, 2012. Winners will be announced on Sunday May 6, 2012 in the Empire Ballroom of the Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City, California

Kermes was born December 20th,1993.
When not in Los Angeles, she lives with her parents, sister Sage, from film "Sweet Land", & her brother Levi in Minnesota.
Alix started modeling at the age of 2, doing print work and commercials. Her acting career began with a part in a MCAD student short film. Other student and independent film roles followed.
During the 2003 pilot season Alix landed her first television series regular role as "Lily" in "Windward Circle", formerly "The Untitled Gilmore Girls Spinoff". The pilot aired as an episode of Gilmore Girls May 13, 2003 and the episode was titled "Here Comes the Son".
Alix enjoyed her first trip to Canada and got her first stamp in her passport the summer of 2004. UPN flew her to Toronto, Canada for a week to film a guest star role as "Page Austin" on their new show "Kevin Hill". The episode first aired Oct. 6th 2004. Gina Gerson played her mom in the episode.

Kermes, graduating Summa Cum Laude from her high school was active with varsity cheerleading, varsity track, National Honor Society, student council,Youth in Government and many other activities. When not working, she spends her summers volunteering, going on mission trips through YouthWorks and worked for her home town's Park and Rec working with youth and teaching cheer camps.
Kermes will be attending University of Florida double majoring in Sustainability and Spanish. 
Kermes founded Project "Green" Light, a light bulb exchange program thats kickoff had more than a quarter million dollar savings impact on the two counties near her home for participants. She is now working to expand the program to a state and national level.
